Monthly NTEAA Meeting

Date : Saturday, August 17th, 2013

All monthly meetings are free to attend and open to the public.

The meeting was called to order by president, Ron Swanson

Eleven people were present including two new people: Lynn Lowrie and Nathan Martinez.

The minutes of the July meeting were read.

The treasurer was not present, so there was no treasurer’s report.

Old Business:
Ron said that he has found a home for the available 240 v. charging station.

Monthly Activities:
Ron stated that the Solar Car Challenge was held starting at Texas Motor Speedway 22 July 2013. No NTEAA meeting members attended.

The 3rd Annual Electric Vehicle Conversion Convention – EVCCON 2013 was held in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, August 6-11 2013. Mike Harris attended. Videos and information on the event are located here:

Upcoming Meetings and Events:
National Plug-In Day will be held 28/29 September. eVgo and Nissan are putting together the event in the DFW area. The details are not yet available.

**** It was voted on and passed that the September meeting of NTEAA will be held on the fourth instead of third Sat. at the National Plug-In Day event. The location will be forthcoming.

The October and December NTEAA meetings will be held at Joel’s train in Garland. The October meeting will be to assist Joel in getting his train working for the season.

The November meeting is tentatively planned for the Tesla Service Center on Welch Road. Neal will contact the people at the service center.

Member Projects:
Mike Harris gave a very informative and detailed account and slide show of his trip to the 2013 EVCCON in Missouri. Details of Mike’s trip are here:

After Mike’s EVCCON presentation. Members toured Makerspace where Stan Simmons pointed out some of the new equipment that has been procured by Makerspace. Mike Harris showed his VW EV conversion to several interested people.
